Painter’s Palette

Painter’s Palette is a vigorous perennial that is grown primarily for its attractive, variegated foliage. This is an herbaceous perennial groundcover which grows to 2′ tall but can spread to 4′ across. It is a monocotyledonous perennial, preferring warm, shady and humid climates, such as tropical rainforests. Its most characteristic feature as an ornamental is its brightly colored spathe leaf, and the protruding inflorescence called the spadix.
